What We Do

At the Maggie Kiweesi Foundation, we run various programs designed to provide comprehensive support to the vulnerable:

  • Orphan Care: We assist orphans in overcoming denial, grief, and anxieties, helping them move towards acceptance and emotional healing. We offer crisis intervention through trained health professionals and counselors.

  • The Widow Project: We offer emotional and psychological support to widows who are overwhelmed by loss and grief. Our aim is to prevent these individuals from becoming dysfunctional members of their families and communities.

  • Economic Empowerment Program: We empower women through training and capacity-building initiatives that enable them to become financially independent and resilient.

  • Self-Help Groups (SHGs): We organize and support self-help groups where individuals with shared experiences can connect and heal together. Through cooperative societies and relief committees, local leaders and professionals are trained to become project leaders, counselors, and educators at the community level.

  • Grief Therapy and Counselling: We provide professional counseling and therapy to help individuals and families cope with grief and loss, focusing on mental health and well-being.

  • Violence Prevention and HIV/AIDS Awareness: We actively fight against violence towards women and provide education and resources to prevent HIV/AIDS.
